The Pond Day Retreat Center is a
peaceful place in the mountains just outside
Asheville NC for individuals or small groups to
gather for prayer, meditation and spiritual renewal through
self-guided day retreats and meetings.
Facilities available for retreat use include the
furnished 4000 sq. ft. house of artist and
Lee James Pantas, and seven landscaped
acres of gardens, ponds and streams, wildflower
meadows with winding paths, inspiring sculpture,
bamboo groves, tranquil woods, frogs, wild
turkeys and other woodland creatures.
The Pond Day
Retreat Center is non-denominational and
welcomes individuals and groups of all
faiths, traditions and points of view. Lee James Pantas, retreat center
owner, is a Roman Catholic Christian with
roots in the Discalced Carmelite and Franciscan
orders of the church.
Facilities and grounds are available for rental daily
only (no overnight retreats) from May through November for either 4 or 8 hours
blocks of time.
Groups of up to 20 persons (14 years or older) can be accommodated.
Meals are not provided but a full kitchen is
available for retreat group members use. In
addition to the large living and dining area,
there are smaller meeting rooms, a chapel and
700 sq. ft. covered front porch with beautiful
mountain and valley views. Throughout the 7-acre
grounds are park benches, picnic tables,
hammocks, pergolas, gazebos, and a dock on the
edge of a Monet-inspired water lily pond.
